Bendle varsity softball team topples Atherton
     BURTON — Even though the cross-town rivalry is an element that can’t be overooked, the Bendle varsity softball team came in ready to play at Atherton on Monday and it showed, as the Lady Tigers swung their way to victories of 12-1 and 18-2 to claim both sides of a Genesee Area Conference-Blue doubleheader.

Tigers sweep Wolverines in Burton showdown
     BURTON — The Atherton baseball team hosted Bendle on Monday and ended up on the wrong sides of 11-6 and 10-4 decisions. David Puke won game one for the Tigers and Jared Garner was victorious in game two. Leading the Bendle offense was Daniel Downer with five hits, while Joe Markley and Garner had three hits each.

Fat Guy’s Corner
     The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass provided not much drama on hole No 18. One Matt Kuchar went to the 18th tee box with a two-shot lead and closed the deal. The possible drama ended when Matt answered Rickie Fowler's 20-foot birdie putt on the par three 17th with a birdie putt on 16 of his own from 15- feet.
