United storms past Southgate Anderson

Photo by Brandon Pope FLINT – The United (Kearsley/ Brandon/Holly/Lake Fenton) hockey team looked unstoppable at the Dort Federal Event Center on Saturday against Southgate Anderson in a 9-1 win.

United opened up with four goals in the first and another four in the second. The ninth goal in the third period kicked in the mercy rule.

Dru Sweers racked up three goals and an assist and Drew Hobson and Colby Polutanovich each added a goal and two helpers. Lochlan Hepburn and Aidan Flick each had a goal and an assist, Alec Copeland and Logan Henry had a goal apiece and MacGregor Hepburn had an assist.

The United was at Lapeer on Wednesday, following press deadlines, and hosts Saginaw Swan Valley tomorrow and the Bay City Wolves (Bay City Central/Bay City Western) on Saturday. – B.P.
